April is Adopt a Greyhound Month
Hi! My name is O Ya Wild Child and everyone calls me Wild Child! My foster mom teases me and says this is appropriate since I am still a puppy! I won't be two years old until May 22nd! My foster mom says that I am VERY sweet and loving. I love to lay my head in your lap and let you pet me! I also love toys and play with them all of the time. I love children too! I have not bothered anything I shouldn't in my foster house. I am currently living with 4 other greyhounds and an 8 pound, 14-year-old chihuahua/papillon mix dog who thinks he is the boss of everyone (and I don't question that)! I sometimes bark at him and try to get him to play, but he just barks back! Foster mom says he is too old to play with me! I really like people even more than other dogs! I also like to give kisses! I am very smart and learn things quickly! I used to always try to rush in the door from outside first, and foster mom corrected me a few times with a spray from a water bottle. Now, all she has to do is hold up her hand and say "wait" and I wait until she calls my name to enter the house!! I want to please so badly! Foster mom also has to tell you that I was in a home and was returned because I had pretty bad separation anxiety. I was with my littermate sister, but that didn't matter because it was the people I missed! I had accidents and broke out of my crate several times and they were afraid I would hurt myself, so they tried to stop crating me. They would just leave me with my muzzle on so I couldn't get into anything I shouldn't. Well, I would still have lots of accidents because I missed them so much. In my foster home I have been perfect. My foster mom has a sunroom on the back of her house and there is a dog door that leads out to a fenced yard. When she leaves the house, she muzzles all of us hounds and puts us in the sunroom. There are lots of beds and big bowls of water (which we can drink even with our muzzles on). She also leaves a radio on out there. Sometimes I whine when she leaves, but I have never had an accident in the sunroom! I can go in and out and I love that. I hope someone with a similar setup or who is willing to work with me to get me through my separation anxiety will give me a forever home. My foster mom says she would keep me if she didn't already have 4 special needs greyhounds! She says she has her hands full. I'm not sure what that means! Please feel free to reach out to her and she can answer any questions if you are interested in me! USE THE CONTACT FORM BELOW.
