Foster families automatically can adopt the grey they foster
They call me Dolly Donut, because they say I’m so sweet. I used to be called Dollartodonut when my job was racing, which I was never very good at, so they retired me before I turned two. I guess I’m more of a follower than a leader.
I have a new career now. I’ve been promoted to foster dog and I’m lovin’ it!
My first job was to learn my new name. Easy peasy.
My second job was to learn how to use a dog door so I wouldn’t use the house as a potty. Nailed It!
My third job is to keep Foster Mom’s hands and face clean with my tongue. Love it!
My fourth job is to rest my head in people’s laps to keep them calm. I’m a natural at it.
My fifth job is to re-decorate the house with toys every day. Best job ever!!!
My sixth job is to learn a new language – English. Still working on that. Here is a list of words I have mastered: Nope, come here, walk, go inside, treats, let’s eat, let’s go, and squirrel (my personal favorite).
Words we are working on: go lay down, wait (I don’t care for this word), and stop that (I hear this one sometimes at night when I bark to keep the coyotes away from my human’s yard. Sometimes they say it when I bark to wake up the other greyhounds to play).
Now I’m working very hard to be a perfect dog so someone will adopt me and give me a furever home. Don’t get me wrong; I love where I am, but foster mom says I need a home where I will get all the attention I need and deserve. I’m hoping with all my heart that I will find someone who wants to be in a committed relationship with me and will love me as much as I love them. It would be great if they have kids too, ‘cause I LOVE kids. They are as silly as I am.
As you can see, being loved and giving love is the job I do best!
